DOT DRUG SCREENS
When is a DOT drug screen necessary? DOT Drug Testing
The Department of Transportation requires the following 5 drugs on a DOT drug screen:
* Amphetamines/ Methamphetamines (also known as speed, ice, crystal, crank, etc).
* Cannabinoids (THC)
(Also known as marijuana, dope, weed, hemp, etc).
* Cocaine (also known as coke, crack, rock cocaine).
* Opiates (5 Panel tests for Codeine and Morphine only).
* Phencyclidine (PCP)
Also known as Angel Dust.

5 Panel Drug Screen
5 Panel Drug testing is an option, if you wish to only test for the same five drugs as performed for a DOT drug screen.
9 Panel Drug Screen
At OHSA, we encourage our clients to have the 9 panel drug screen, since the use of illegally obtained prescription drugs are on the rise.
The 9 panel Drug Screen includes all 5 drugs that are tested on the 5 panel, plus the following prescription drugs:
* Synthetic Opiates - Most misused prescription drug. (Hydrocodone - Loracet & Loratab).
* Barbiturates - Has a calming effect & is used for mild pain (also known as barbs, downers, tranqs).
* Benzodiazepines - Anti-anxiety, tranquilizer type used for calming (also known as bennies & rophies).
* Methadone - Prescribed at Methadone clinics. Highly addictive. Sometimes sold on the street.
* Propoxyphene - Prescribed to alleviate mild to moderate pain (Darvon, Darvon-N). Is highly addictive.
Hair Testing
A 5 Panel Hair Test
(hair follicle) is a good choice to detect up to 90 days of drug usage.
Excellent for a pre-employment candidate.
